Tauranga Moana Reading Council is a member of the New Zealand Reading Association and the International Reading Association.
It exists as a non-profit network of individuals who are committed to promoting Literacy. The Association supports literacy professionals through a wide range of resources, volunteerism, and professional development activities. Our members promote high levels of literacy for all by:
• Improving the quality of reading instruction
• Disseminating research and information about reading
• Encouraging the lifetime reading habit
Throughout the year Tauranga Moana Reading Council organise events for teachers to promote the teaching of
Reading and Writing, including the annual workshop evening, ‘Fostering Literacy in the Bay’.
